GreenTomato CEO Mr Sunny Kok won Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards 2012 by Enterprise Asia. Other winners include CEO from K Wah Group, HKET Group, CITIC Telecom etc. Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards are a series of recognition awards given by Enterprise Asia. Started as an initiative to identify and recognise outstanding entrepreneurship, the Awards have now evolved into a credible, highly desired award in Asia Pacific.
10 years ago, Sunny and his fellow co-founders already had unique vision on mobile potential and this award is a recognition of that: “When we first entered the mobile scene in 2003, people thought we were crazy. As someone who had just participated in the internet boom, we thought otherwise. What people saw was a handheld device that made making phone calls easier; we saw a revolutionarily powerful tool. Be it games, entertainment, news or commerce, we saw a media gateway that integrates right into people’s life. We saw no more screaming to consumers when people voluntarily go to mobile. As ever-changing technologies, mobile creatively changes the way we act. That was what we saw back in 2003. It is what we are celebrating today.”
Sunny always attributes the company success to GreenTomato’s team of over 160 passionate and young developers and designers across 5 regional offices, who share his devotion to innovate. He wanted to, and has successfully built a company that is treasured and respected by clients as a trusted partner. Under Sunny’s leadership, GreenTomato has been recognized by numerous renowned IT awards, including Asia Pacific ICT Alliance awards, Computerworld Tech Company of the Year, Red Herring Global and Asia 100 company, Hong Kong ICT awards, etc.
With more than 15 years of experience in the internet, mobile internet and mobile application development in Hong Kong, the PRC and the Asia Pacific region, Sunny Kok champions innovative approach to business processes on mobile, already benefiting over 100 bluechip clients. His insistence on an in-house R&D team led to the creation of GreenTomato’s award-winning cross-platform applications, Hong Kong Movie and TalkBox Voice Messenger.
