“Although I don’t see the situation changing any time soon, I do see different parties teaming up to have a breakthrough for the industry. What WTIA doing is admirable. Various startup communities are also budding with the aim to nourish innovative spirit among youngsters (though it’s still pre-dominantly expats-driven). Instead of hoping for the government or the Hong Kong people to react, is there any way we can encourage more people to innovate and push out world-class products? The industry isn’t setting up a good example either, with too many companies, big and small, going after the same crowded SI market but what can we say, we all have a company to sustain.
Kids nowadays, especially those who can code and create, do desperately wanna escape but they lack the right channels and tools to do it. Maybe that’s where we can help in. I would rather place my hope and effort on them.”
